Today christian psychology has become a secular profit driven enterprise with mental health professionals sponsoring (standing room only) seminars on subjects as “how to get referrals from clergy.” Christian psychiatric clinics energetically market their wares using seminars, books, radio shows, and 1 800 numbers toll free. In 1991 a “Christianity Today” survey found that 29% of their readers had received counseling for themselves or a close family member and 3 to 1 choosing a christian psychologist counselor. 

These statutes are in stark contrast to 1960 US Congress by joint commission on mental illness and health surveys show that Americans seeking assistance 42% consulted their church and pastor with 29% consulting physicians and 18% consulting psychiatrists. Then only 10% consulted social agencies and marriage clinics. The unholy marriage with religion and psychology today precipitates a new style attack on the sanctity and security of our churches. --- An avalanche of litigation--- is hardly surprising, giving that psychiatrists have proportionately more criminal charges leveled against them than any other faction of the healthcare industry. At least 10% of psychiatric practitioners admit to sexually abusing their patients. Psychiatry’s hunger for profit has never been tempered.
