HINES- ALLEN, DURR 17 EACH IN WIN.
Louisville women's basketball jumped out to a 24-4 first quarter lead yesterday against the ClemsonWBB Tigers and never looked back in second day action in the ACC Women's Basketball tournament.
Hines-Allen had five of the first seven points in the romp...the Cards held ClemsonWBB to 2-14 shooting in the first ten minutes.
"We got out well off of rebounds and passed the ball well. Myisha ran the floor extremely well.
By the half, Louisville held a 34-18 edge and the only questions left were how much the Cards would win by and what the media lunch buffet would have on it. The only cause for concern was Louisville's 1-10 three point shooting. (The buffet had burgers, dogs and potato salad)
Asia DURR solved the three situation temporarily by nailing two in the first 1:30 of the second half. She put up 8 of her 17 points in the period and the Cards led 52-36 after three. She had the only threes for the Cards 3-17 shooting for the morning. Walz jokingly addressed that also.
"I don't know why you think that's bad. I mean that's kind of like alternative facts, is it not? It gave us 14 opportunities to get offensive rebounds. See, Paulie...you take some things and you churn them to however they fit you"
The Cards had 10 offensive rebounds in the game.
All smiles and fun in the 22 point romp. Things get very serious today, though, against a North Carolina State team that beat Louisville by two in the KFC YUM Center.
Let's hope the lively bantering can continue around 1 p.m...
