Bite #18, Taking Back the Reins:
Citizens Commission for Human Rights:
Write to your local and federal representatives and demand that your local mental health centers in your area either be shut down or turned over to the churches. The clergy must refrain from referring parishioners to community mental health centers or for any psychological or psychiatric treatments.
Based on the anti-religious commitment of psychology and psychiatry, government’s support of it is unconstitutional under federal and state guarantee of religious freedom in countries such as United States. It is also unconstitutional because of church and state separation. Also the first amendment government funding of psychiatric research and promotion, including the funding of National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH) is unconstitutional in the United States.
Similar agencies in other countries should also be eliminated to stop the destructive psychiatric intrusion into churches and church social programs, as well as halting the vast waste of tax payer’s money. Write to your state and federal representatives demanding that tax money no longer be allocated for psychological and psychiatric research.
