DW: Coordinated attacks, car bomb blasts rock Afghanistan
Hundreds of Taliban fighters stormed a police HQ in Afghanistan after driving an explosive-laden Humvee into the center of the Andar district. Elsewhere, a reinforcement convoy and a police training center were also hit.
Security forces were battling jihadists in at least two locations in Afghanistan, with dozens reported killed, officials said on Tuesday.
An attack in Ghazni province saw Taliban militants drive a stolen Humvee into the administrative center of Andar district and detonate the vehicle near the police headquarters and the seat of the district governor. Some 300 Taliban fighters then attacked the area. At least 30 members of the security forces were killed in the explosion and the subsequent gunfight, the DPA news agency reported, citing provincial council member Amanullah Kamran.
