ABC News Issues A Major Clarification On Their Original Bombshell Michael Flynn Report
WNU Editor: When I first read the ABC News report on Michael Flynn this afternoon I could not help but make the following comment ....
.... This ABC report is so bogus that I do not even know where to begin. President Trump was elected on a platform that included having better relations with Russia .... especially in the war against ISIS .... and it would therefore not surprise anyone that he would have directed someone like his future National Security adviser (i.e. Michael Flynn) to develop contacts with the Russian government. These type of discussions are not against the law. The plea deal is also very clear .... this is not a plea to an espionage scheme, it is a plea to a process crime. To put it bluntly .... the Meuller Commision has no proof that a scheme to work and collude with the Russians to impact the election is present in today's court revelations .... none .... zero. The only thing that the Mueller Counsel now has is the Manafort case .... and that has nothing to do with Russian collusion.
Not surprising, this evening ABC News realized that their original reporting was incorrect, and they had to make the following clarification (See also the video above) ....
.... Correction: During a live Special Report, ABC News reported that a confidant of Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said Flynn was prepared to testify that then-candidate Donald Trump instructed him to contact Russian officials during the campaign. That source later clarified that during the campaign, Trump assigned Flynn and a small circle of other senior advisers to find ways to repair relations with Russia and other hot spots. It was shortly after the election, that President-elect Trump directed Flynn to contact Russian officials on topics that included working jointly against ISIS.
The original ABC News story has been repeated throughout the world .... will this clarification (done very quickly on a Friday evening) receive the same coverage .... probably not.
