Gameweek 19 - Daily Fantasy Premier League Tips
Starting 11 is a new Daily Fantasy Premier League football game and app, which has become extremely popular amongst the FPL community since August 2017, as managers get to pick a brand new fantasy team each week, without the headache of managing a season-long team.
As always, this week’s picks are suitable for all fantasy football game formats and will suit most scoring systems, so we hope you find good use for them, whether you’re playing Fantasy Premier League, or daily fantasy games over at Starting 11.

Safe Pick - Sergio Aguero vs Bournemouth (H)
With Gabriel Jesus's presence in a second string XI in the Carabao Cup for Manchester City, Sergio Aguero is all but guaranteed to start for Pep Guardiola on Saturday.
Manchester City’s opponents this weekend are Bournemouth who are winless in the last 6 games.
Aguero hasn’t score a hat-trick since Gameweek 6 but my gut says we will see Aguero explode on Saturday and for Manchester City’s winning run to continue.
Differential - Tammy Abraham vs Crystal Palace (H)
With Wilfried Bony’s injury 4 minutes into the match vs Everton, Tammy Abraham finds himself back in the starting 11 for this weekend.
Despite Crystal Palace’s recent improvement lifting them out of the relegation zone, in my opinion, with Mamadou Sakho out injured they still look vulnerable at the back.
A nailed on starter, Abraham could be the man to give you a sneaky advantage on Saturday.
Midfielders
Safe Pick – Paul Pogba vs Leicester City (A)
It's easy to see that Pogba is the key to this Manchester United side and his return from suspension this weekend should help maintain the gap to Manchester City, even if closing it seems too much to ask.
Their opponents, Leicester City, only have 2 clean sheets in their last 10 games and come into the match off the back of a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Crystal Palace.
During his 8 starts this season, Pogba has been involved in 10 goals (scored 3 and assisted 7). Fresh to take on the festive period, I’m expecting more returns for fantasy managers.
Differential Pick – Xherdan Shaqiri vs West Brom (H)
After blanking in his last 3 matches, Shaqiri will be looking to end his purple patch this Saturday at home to struggling West Brom.
With West Brom second from bottom in the Premier League and without a win since August, if Stoke are to score then those goals will involve the Switzerland international.
Despite the recent blanks the signs are positive for Shaqiri, he has had 4 shots and provided 6 key passes during his last 2 games. Can those stats turn into fantasy points this weekend?
Defenders
Safe Pick – Phil Jones vs Leicester City (A)
Phil Jones has played 90 minutes in 11 games this season and Manchester United have kept a clean sheet in 9 of those games.
Now back in the side after missing 5 games through injury, I expect the incredible David De Gea to have his workload reduced during the busy international period.
Their opponents Leicester City have been in a good run of form, however after the 3-0 defeat to Crystal Palace mentioned earlier, Manchester United will look to take advantage.
Differential Pick – Angelo Ogbonna vs Newcastle (H)
Many doubted him, but credit where it’s due, David Moyes has managed to turn West Ham’s season around.
The Hammers have been transformed from the worst defence in the league, to a side who have kept 3 clean sheets in their last 3 games.
This week, West Ham are at home to Newcastle who are on a 4 game losing streak and without a win in 9 games.
West Ham will win in my opinion and Ogbonna will collect his 4th clean sheet in 4 games.
Goalkeepers
Safe Pick – Ederson
Manchester City have been a powerful force going forward for the last few seasons, however their downfall has always been their inability to keep a clean sheet.
This season it’s a different story, boasting the joint best defensive record for which Ederson is in part key too.
This week City are up against a struggling Bournemouth side who are now winless in their last 6 games and have failed to score in their last 2.
Differential Pick – Jack Butland vs West Brom (H)
A popular pick for the 2016/17 season, however Butland only has 2 clean sheets to his name this year, a true differential for any fantasy manager taking a punt on him.
Well this week could be the time for that punt, with a home tie vs West Brom who are without a win since August.
West Brom have only scored 1 goal in their last 4 games which came in the unlikely form of Gareth Barry, their attack shouldn’t be providing much threat to Butland’s clean sheet on Saturday.
This season some of us may be guilty of forgetting what damage Sergio Aguero can do when he is on form.
Rested midweek, along with Sterling, De Bruyne and Manchester City’s other attacking assets, I almost feel sorry for Bournemouth this weekend.
Manchester City have captaincy options throughout their squad this weekend but for me this fixture has an Aguero hatrick written all over it.
