So, UConn is playing a weekday afternoon game. I'm sure your suckers....er....fans that still work are DVRing the game and will watch it Wednesday night. I'll hold off until after bowling so most of you will have had a chance to watch the game before I post the spoiler! I'll take a guess and say UConn wins.
Lucky for me, I'm babysitting for Logan tomorrow and he will be napping. Usually I nap at the same time but I'll do my best to stay awake and watch the game.
I have a feeling that Samuelson will get another game off. It just makes sense to give her more rest against a team as weak as Memphis. It will also give Geno a chance to use the same player rotation. I'd like to see Coombs get some more minutes with a few starters. I thought she looked more aggressive on offense. More minutes might mean more confidence.

UConn was second in several NCAA women's stats when I posted them the other day.
After the big win against Temple, one of those has changed with UConn now leading in that stat.
Scoring Offense - 90.4
Scoring 113 points in a game will do that!

Here are some strange and FUN stats from UConn's season so far:
1. Katie Lou has only played in 13 games, while Kyla, Molly and Megan have been in 15 games.
2. The player with the most defensive rebounds is Gabby w/ 114. (Z has 98 and Pheesa has 97.)
3. Crystal has 29 steals in 18 games. Last year, she had 29 steals in 31 games.
4. Megan has now scored 101 points, grabbed 52 rebounds and played 251 minutes for the Huskies.
5. UConn has 7 players making 70% or better on free throws. As a team, UConn makes 74.1%.
6. Napheesa has more steals (29), blocked shots (35) and assists (54) than she does turnovers (25). Only player to do that.
7. The Huskies are averaging over 90 points per game again, at 90.4 ppg.
8. Collier has made 113 baskets, while Azura has 112. Kia is 3rd with 97.
9. Opponents make just 66.5% of their free throws. That is the lowest total in 4 years.
10. Katie Lou has only 2 blocked shots. Megan has 4 and Mikayla Coombs has 2.

Part Deux -
A recent poster asked, "Why can't we be like Duke?" He was referring, of course, to the men's program which has recruited the #1, #2 and #3 prospects in the nation for 2018. Certainly, that would be nice. But what about the women's program? Would UConn ever want to be like the Duke WBB team? Consider:
1. Duke's record is 15-5 and they are ranked #18.
2. Their five losses have been to Villanova, South Carolina, Miami, Louisville and North Carolina.
3. Louisville and SC are good teams & have "only" 4 losses combined, but the other three have 5, 6 and 6 loses.
4. Their wins, however, are a list of lesser teams like Grand Canyon, Highpoint, Presbyterian, Winthrop, Maine, Wyoming, and Liberty. Who?
5. Duke's only good win was against Ohio State, at home, by 9 points. OSU is now 16-4 and dropping in the rankings.
6. Duke has played 12 home games and 2 more in the state of North Carolina.
7. All 5 losses have been on the road.
So Duke has loaded up on home games, scheduled a ton of pushovers, gone 1-5 versus decent teams and survives in the top 25 based on what the program was, not is....
Let's not be like Duke...
