It looks like UConn's 2018 class No. 1 recruit Christyn Williams and No. 5 recruit Olivia Nelson-Ododa might not be complete.

Maybe the best 18 year old player available to play next season, Australian star Ezi Magbegor is coming to UConn for a visit. I linked an article in the UConn News section. I had heard some great things about her. I haven't really seen much of her game until I looked for a video to share.

Here are highlights from the U17 tournament in 2016
where she was MVP

And in 2017 she was the Rookie of the Year 
in the pro league she played in. No, she didn't 
ruin her amateur status. She wasn't paid.

Magbegor is a 6'4" post with great moves around the basket. She will fit in well with Nelson-Ododa who is 6'4" but more of a forward.

Ok....let me dream of these two 6'4" front court players added to 6'6" Azura Stevens and 6'3" Katie Lou Samuelson. Add in 5'5" Crystal Dangerfield....lol. A big and great lineup.

Speaking of Christyn William, here are highlights from her 2/6/ game. I think it's five three point shots. Maybe she can fill the opening with Kia Nurse graduating?

Also, both 2018 recruits are on the ten player Naismith Trophy for the best High School player in the country. 2018 Naismith Trophy Girls High School Player of the Year semifinalists set

While we all try to get the taste of the UCF game out of our mouths, it may be time to review how good our two Seniors really are... First, how bad were they in the UCF game? Consider:

1. Kia and Gabby combined for just 6 points.
2. On the other hand, they had 8 combined turnovers.
3. Gabby went 1-4 from the field, Kia was worse at 0-4.
4. Kia missed all 3 of her three-point tries.

How good are they normally? Consider:

1. Kia has scored 1,524 points in her career. That is good enough for 23rd all-time at UConn.
2. Gabby has scored 1,417 points in the same period.  She is 27th on the all-time list.
3. Gabby's 6 rebounds give her 918 for her career. She is now 9th all time.
4. Kia and Gabby had 5 steals against UCF. That gives Gabby 278, #7 all time.
5. Kia now has 405 assists and needs only 51 to pass Shea Ralph for 15th place.

They both had a bad game and UConn won easily. Crystal was hurt and didn't play and UConn won easily. The Huskies had 18 turnovers and still won easily. They scored 55 points, the lowest all season, but the defense help UCF to the lowest total all season. UConn won. Time to move on...
