Gameweek 33 - Daily Fantasy Football Tips
Starting 11 is a new Daily Fantasy Premier League football game and app, which has become extremely popular amongst the FPL community since August 2017, as managers get to pick a brand new fantasy team each week, without the headache of managing a season-long team.
As always, this week’s picks are suitable for all fantasy football game formats and will suit most scoring systems, so we hope you find good use for them, whether you’re playing Fantasy Premier League, or daily fantasy games over at Starting 11.

Safe Pick - Aubameyang vs Southampton (H)
After 75 minutes of nail biting last Sunday, those of you with Aubameyang were two goals to the good. I still can't believe he didn't take the penalty to secure his hat-trick!
When Southampton played West Ham last weekend they looked awful. In my opinion they will join West Brom and Stoke in the Championship next season.
Due to being cup-tied in the Europa League, Aubameyang is just about as nailed on as they come - scoring goals and a favourable fixture, the first player in your line-up.
Differential - Rodriguez vs Swansea (H)
West Brom are surely doomed. However, with Pardew out could we see a change in fortune?
Not many fantasy bosses would back a West Brom player at the moment. Could this be the week to take a punt on Rodriguez?
For Swansea, this fixture has come at the wrong time – can Rodriguez score past a defence that lost 3-0 in the FA Cup to Spurs, followed by 2-0 to Manchester United last weekend?
Midfielders
Safe Pick – Son vs Stoke (A)
Alli may have been the player finding the back of the net last weekend from an advanced position in Kane’s absence but it’s Son who gets the nod for me against Stoke this week.
After scoring four goals and recording an assist from only his last three games, Son is in great form and will only benefit from the return of Kane this weekend.
After losing three on the run and without a win in eight, fill your team with players from the team playing Stoke - I can’t see them finding a way out of the relegation zone.
Differential Pick – Gross vs Huddersfield (H)
Gross has been finding some form again over the last few weeks, scoring once and providing three assists over his last five games.
This weekend provides the German with a fantastic opportunity to build on that form, up against a Huddersfield side without a win from their last four games.
With a Double Gameweek on the horizon over on FPL, Gross is finding his way into a number of teams across different fantasy formats.
Defenders
Safe Pick – Alonso vs West Ham (H)
The Spaniard is still a de facto winger with clean sheet bonuses in my mind. He was unlucky not to be on the score sheet last weekend against Spurs. As this is Alonso we concentrate on the opposing teams defence, in West Ham’s case – conceding eleven goals during their last four games.
Will this be the weekend the cries of ‘Goalonso’ return?
Differential Pick – Van Aanholt vs Bournemouth (A)
It's always a pleasure to have 'PVA' in my team and this weekend offers another opportunity given their opposition, Bournemouth.
Not as attacking as Alonso, but he has come up with 2 goals this season, both scored within the last four weeks - as well as some set piece responsibility.
With Sakho back in the Crystal Palace defence their unit is altogether more stable and I think Bournemouth could struggle to score past them.
Goalkeepers
Safe Pick – Lloris vs Stoke (A)
What better way to make up for last week’s error than a clean sheet? Saturday’s match against Stoke City will certainly give him that opportunity.
The soon-to-be Championship side, Stoke City, have only scored once during their last four games.
Together with Spurs' defenders this fixture is showing potential for a defensive stack – would you be brave enough to double or even triple up?
Differential Pick – Ryan vs Huddersfield (H)
Brighton have surprised me this season. They have played some good football and never looked out of their depth – survival is by no means guaranteed but they have put themselves in a good position with seven games remaining.
Their opponents on Saturday however find themselves a little closer to trouble – heavily down to their goal scoring form which is feeble at best. It’s now four games without finding the back of the net for Huddersfield.
If there is a slither of hope for Stoke and Southampton’s Premier League survival, it’s that Huddersfield are sliding down into the mix.
CAPTAIN PICK
The Arsenal forward is scoring goals for fun and has a very favourable fixture, which makes Aubameyang my captain this week.
Whilst his team mates have Europa League distractions, cup-tied Aubameyang can concentrate on his league form - he’s now scored five goals in six games since his arrival in January.
Form and fixture – entrust him with the armband.
