Logan is sending a rocket to pick me up in Florida and take me home.

Seems most pictures of Barrett is him eating. But everything
is so new for him. First time eating tuna! Seems to like it!

So, yes, I'm coming back to Connecticut Sunday morning. EARLY flight!!! Back to the cold. Hopefully a UConn win on Sunday will warm me up!!

UConn's next game is the rematch against UCF where the Huskies won the first game 93-57

Since then, the Knights have played four games, winning their first three against Houston by a score of 58-56, South Florida 66-63 and SMU 66-54 before losing to Tulane 61-59. None of those games were very impressive for Central Florida, even their wins.

Central Florida is basically a team that relies on it's defense to win games. They average only 55.4 points per game allowed. They have held eight teams under 50 points and even one under 40 points. They number that really stands out to me is 19.8. That is how many turnovers they force each game. That is pretty impressive.

The Knights pretty much force mistakes. They use all their players, even in the competitive games. In the first UConn game they had 8 players in double digit minutes.

While UCF is great defensively, they are pretty much offensively challenged. As a team they shoot only 41% from the field and 34% on threes.

Central Florida is led by Korneila Wright, a 5'7" junior guard. She averages 18.0 ppg and a team leading 3.6 assists per game. She is a dynamic player and UConn will have to put some pressure on her like they did in the first game where UConn held her to 8 points.

No one else stands out statistically for the Knights. The rest of the starters are 5'11" senior guard Sydnee McDonald, 5'8" senior guard Jamesha Paul, 6' redshirt senior guard and leading rebounder Nyala Shuler and 5'11" redshirt junior forward Tolulope Omokore. Shuler was hot from the outside against UConn the first time going 3-4 on threes.

Off the bench they play 6'3" sophomore forward Masseny Kaba, 5'8" senior guard Kayla Thigpen, 5'8" senior guard Lawriel Wilson and 5'8" freshman guard Diamond Battles.

"UCF is not a very big team so they could struggle with UConn's Collier and Walker"

Yes, I said that before the first matchup. And Collier led the team with 23 points and 9 rebounds while and Walker had 21 points and 11 rebounds. Not bad...eh??? Look for more of the same.

UConn scored 93 points in the first matchup and were only 7-24 on threes. If they are still in their good offensive mode, they could break 100.

UConn by 30+ points.

Last night, Oregon beat Oregon State 77-68. The game was close throughout with only a 4 point half-time difference. With 2 minutes to go, the score was 71-64. I bring this up because Oregon only used 2 subs and they scored only 2 points in 15 total minutes. Sounds like Oregon plays their starting five lots of minutes.

Ionescu played all 40 minutes. Boleyn and Hebard each had 37 minutes of game time. Sabally and Cazorla were in for 36 & 36 minutes respectively. The main sub played 10 minutes but took only 1 shot. The other sub saw mop up duty.

UConn is not the only team that uses their best five for most of a game. Fans who worry about the Huskies starters can relax. Superior conditioning means the Huskies can play full games & play well.

Go Huskies..!!
