Chad Goes Off as Lax Dominates Ohio State

In one final hoorah at the Louisville Lacrosse Stadium Tessa Chad set a program record for most points in a game as the Cards routed THE(EEEEE) Ohio State University 19-7.

Tessa Chad tied a program-best by scoring nine goals in the game, a record she set earlier this year.  Her two assists took her point total to 20 points on the day.  During the match Chad scored her 200th career point and her 100th as a Cardinal.

Ohio State got on the board first when former Cardinal Mckayla Conti scored a goal less than a minute into the game.  She led the Buckeyes with two goals.  Ohio State added a second goal 40 seconds later for the quick 2-0 lead.

The Cards would put up a quick pair of goals to match the score at two apiece.

Ohio State went on to score the next two goals, making the first six goals of the game between the two teams -- all unassisted.

In a fiery effort, Louisville used an 11-0 spurt that involved closing out the first half and starting the second half to take a commanding 13-4 lead with about 24 minutes remaining.

The Buckeyes posted a pair of goals within a minute of each other to dig into the lead before Louisville scored six of the final seven goals of the game.

Besides Chad's triple hat trick Ally Hall recorded one of her own.  Paige Richbourg added two goals and two assists for six points.

Rachel Florek took position in goal once again for the Cards, recording five saves on 12 tries for the win.  Lexie Ball came in for the final 4.5 minutes but did not face a shot on goal.

The home victory was the fifth overall on the season for the 5-10 Cards and the third at home in eight tries.

Louisville travels to #7 Virginia this Saturday and will wrap up play at #1 Boston College the following weekend.
