To celebrate Starting 11’s £50.00 Mini-League free roll this weekend, I’m back to bring you regular weekly installments of tips and hints on how to make the most of your Daily Fantasy Premier League team.
We all love fantasy football and with a lot of us playing in FPL cash games with family, friends and work colleagues, Starting 11 are offering us the chance to win some fresh cash, every weekend!
What makes Starting 11 special is that there are no player price caps or budget restrictions, which allows you to pack a weekly team with as many premium assets as you want, rather than being forced to own less accomplished players from the bottom end of the table.
If you’d like to get involved this week by challenging myself and many other FPL bosses from the community, simply create your line-ups today by downloading the free Starting 11 app, which is available on both iOS and Android.
We really are spoilt for coice when it comes to picking our Starting 11 line ups.
You may have thought it was tough last Sunday with eight teams in action, well this Saturday’s bumper fixture list means you have a whopping SIXTEEN teams to take into consideration.
Below, I (@FPLHints) will show you guys my lineup in advance and offer a few thoughts on which premium and differential players i’m considering.
Once you’ve installed the app and are logged in, please head over to the ‘Mini-League’ tab and there you will see FPLTips’ contest for Saturday the 28th of September. As I’ve said above – both the iOS and Android apps are free to download, and the £50.00 'free roll' contest is free to join and play so there’s nothing to lose.
Sergio Aguero vs. Everton (A)
As you all know, I activated my Triple Captain Chip over on FPL last week – backing Aguero and Manchester City to respond to their defeat during Gameweek 5 in the best possible way, by making a statement vs Watford.
Oh and did they make a statement, my only disappointment was that Aguero only scored 1 of the 8 goals – Kun was unlucky, on another day he could have scored several more. This week I am backing Aguero again, after watching some dismal displays from Everton of late. I’m confident that if Sheffield United can score two against the Toffees, Manchester City can score even more. So roll with Aguero in both FPL and Starting 11 for Gameweek 7 in confidence.
Trent Alexander-Arnold vs. Sheffield United (A)
It looks like the season of the premium defence turned out to be somewhat of a myth - as are clean sheets. Add an injury to Liverpool’s goalkeeper, Alisson, and even the best defence in the league is leaking. However, we play fantasy football for goals and assists - both of which Alexander-Arnold has on offer; not forgetting he still has some set-piece responsibilities.
With Liverpool facing Sheffield United in Gameweek 7, I’m doubling up with Robertson – they both provided attacking returns last weekend against Chelsea and have looked dangerous all season going forward.
Kevin De Bruyne vs. Everton (A)
One of the players of the season so far, Kevin De Bruyne, looks like he’s out to prove a point after missing so much of last season through injury. Having made 27 key passes already this season and 16 shots on goal, it’s no surprise to hear he’s already chalked up 7 assists and 2 goals in the Premier League this season.
Pep rested him against Norwich and was made to pay the price - he won’t make the same mistake again, surely? Like Aguero, KDB is a must-own player in both FPL and Starting 11 for Gameweek 7 and a premium captaincy contender in my opinion.
My Differential – Serge Aurier vs. Southampton (H)
If not for VAR, Aurier’s goal would have stood last weekend against Leicester and would have led to him featuring in more fantasy teams than he currently does. Spurs have a lovely little run of fixtures up next - starting with a home tie against Southampton and a point to prove after losing to Leicester City in Gameweek 6.
Aurier returned to the Spurs starting line up during Gameweek 5 and marked the occasion with two assists and a clean sheet, which is always encouraging for fantasy football managers. I think Spurs are more can capable of keeping the Saints out this weekend and judging by how attacking his heat map was last weekend, he could add some attacking returns too. A huge differential still on FPL and is unlikely to be a popular pick on Starting 11 either, so grab him with confidence for Gameweek 7.
