MadPick - Zero Hero (Gameweek 7)

@FPLMad continues his series of 'Zero Hero' picks which focus on super low-owned players. They could be uber-differentials (at 0.9% or less), thus require more scrutiny and evaluation over a three Gameweek window. Over the years, he has provided an assortment of successful differentials on a weekly basis through his own set of parameters and is relishing this new challenge. Here's his Zero Hero pick for Gameweek 7:
Leicester City had a rocking start to the season sitting in 3rd place with 11 points playing 3 top 6 teams in 3 out of 6 matches so far this season; Manchester United, Tottenham and Chelsea. With the likes of Maddison and Tielemans at the heart of their offense they’re starting to make waves. This brings me to this week’s pick; Harvey Barnes. The former England U21 international was recalled from his loan spell at West Brom last season due to his excellent performances; scoring 9 goals and 7 assists in 26 appearances. In a makeshift team last season, he had 11 starts where he registered 3 assists and a goal which was an underachievement considering he had an xG of 3.92.
So far this season, he’s been slowly getting himself in that starting lineup with the new arrival Perez not fitting the 4-1-4-1 deployed by Brendan Rogers, as well as the likes of Albrighton and Gray not impressing as much. With two winger spots up for grabs, they are all set to battle out for the next few weeks but as of this moment in time, it looks to be his position to lose as he looks nailed on to start at least the next couple of GWs which was indicated by him being rested midweek during the Carabao Cup. In two starts and 3 appearances off the bench, Barnes has already scored an absolute screamer against Sheffield United in GW3. He’s had 20 penalty area touches, a total of 6 goal attempts including 5 shots inside the box as well as 3 chances created. In an attacking Leicester City side that has a great run of fixtures where they only face top 6 sides twice in the next 11 games, Liverpool GW8 and Arsenal GW12, you’ve got to invest in their FPL assets. However, as a ZeroHero pick, we’ll judge his performances over the next 3 weeks when he faces Newcastle at home, Liverpool away and Burnley at home. Barnes offers a great differential pick as well as a cheap option into their attack, being priced at a low £5.9 million and only owned 0.3% of FPL managers; he’s this week Zero Hero. I would love to hear your thoughts and reactions about this week’s pick.
