Getting Ready for Turkey Day!!
MaxPreps unveiled their preseason High School All-American list and UConn has some good news!!
It was no surprise that Paige Bueckers was selected to the first team. Here is what they had to say about her.
Paige Bueckers, Hopkins (Minnetonka, Minn.)
5-11 | Senior | Guard | Connecticut
The best player on perhaps the most talented team in the country, Bueckers averaged 24.3 points, 5.4 assists, 4.8 rebounds and 4.7 steals for unbeaten Hopkins last year. Don't be surprised if she's even better this season.
But UConn got a nice surprise when Mir McLean, another UConn 2020 committ was selected to the second team. Here is their writeup about her.

Her 18.3 points a game may not dazzle like other averages on this list, but like Diamond Johnson, she recorded them against top-shelf opponents. Oh, and she added an impressive 12.9 rebounds a game as well.

I watched some of the Ohio State/Kent State game Thursday night. OSU is UConn's next opponent, so this will help me write a pregame report. I hate going into these things blind.
A few observations.
- You thought Geno had a belly? OSU coach Kevin McDuff needs to take a step away from the dinner table.
- Ohio State plays a pretty loose man-to-man defense. Not a lot of help defense and they don't pressure the ball at all.
- The Buckeyes love to run off of rebounds, but mostly it's out of control. And they shoot very quickly. I didn't see them run much offense. Lots of passing around the perimeter.
UConn should have no trouble in this game. I will have a full pregame report soon.

Many Huskies have contributed to UConn's 4-0 start this season. But, Olivia Nelson-Ododa is filling up the stat sheet in an impressive manner. Consider:
1. Liv's assist total of 14 is 2nd best on the team. That is 4 more than Crystal..!
2. ONO has 21 offensive rebounds. That is more than the rest of the team combined.
3. Olivia is tied with Megan for the most made free throws at 11. Her free throw % is better than Megan at 78.6%.
4. Her 17 blocked shots are 15 more than the next player.
5. Liv is averaging a double-double with 12.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game.
6. Olivia is playing 32 minutes per game vs 14 per game last season.
Liv is excelling at almost every phase of the game, both on offense and defense. Only a sophomore, she is improving game by game, right in front of our eyes.

- The Buckeyes love to run off of rebounds, but mostly it's out of control. And they shoot very quickly. I didn't see them run much offense. Lots of passing around the perimeter.

Rankings and RPI Sites
I watched some of the Ohio State/Kent State game Thursday night. OSU is UConn's next opponent, so this will help me write a pregame report. I hate going into these things blind.
A few observations.
- You thought Geno had a belly? OSU coach Kevin McDuff needs to take a step away from the dinner table.
- Ohio State plays a pretty loose man-to-man defense. Not a lot of help defense and they don't pressure the ball at all.

Many Huskies have contributed to UConn's 4-0 start this season. But, Olivia Nelson-Ododa is filling up the stat sheet in an impressive manner. Consider:
1. Liv's assist total of 14 is 2nd best on the team. That is 4 more than Crystal..!
2. ONO has 21 offensive rebounds. That is more than the rest of the team combined.
3. Olivia is tied with Megan for the most made free throws at 11. Her free throw % is better than Megan at 78.6%.
4. Her 17 blocked shots are 15 more than the next player.
5. Liv is averaging a double-double with 12.3 points per game and 10.3 rebounds per game.
6. Olivia is playing 32 minutes per game vs 14 per game last season.
Liv is excelling at almost every phase of the game, both on offense and defense. Only a sophomore, she is improving game by game, right in front of our eyes.
