Pathways

In 2003, a talented soccer defender arrived on UofL's campus and got right to work.  Immediately hitting the pitch as a starting defender, Amy Seng (now Calabrese) made an immediate impact from day one, and hasn't stopped.

Calabrese, now an Associate Athletic Director at UofL, was selected to participate in the NCAA Pathway Program.  Pathway is a targeted program designed to prepare sports administrators to step up into positions such as AD or conference commissioner.

The Pathway program is a year-long program featuring a diverse mix of case study assignments, higher education and athletics leadership engagement, exploration of culture development, and insight into hiring practices and interview preparation.

Amy current oversees Lacrosse, Field Hockey, Women's Soccer, and Softball at UofL, while also maintaining the liason role with the Dean's office and other departments within the University, and also managed the Title IX education activities of the athletic department.

Calabrese showed early that she is one of those people that will be successful in whatever she puts her mind to.  She was team MVP and Freshman Player of the Year for the UofL Soccer team her first year.  She placed on various All-Academic teams throughout her playing career.

After Calabrese graduated in 2006, she started with the UofL Athletics Department starting working with student-athlete development and championships, with duties working with the Cardinal Athletic Fund and event management.  She was elevated to Director of Student-Athlete Development in 2010.  After several years of experience in that role, she was promoted to Assistant Athletic Director and then to Associate Athletic Director which is her current role.

I have had the opportunity to have a number of conversations with Amy over the years and have always found her, in addition to her obvious excellence and talent, to be approachable and friendly.

Congratulations to Amy Calabrese for her selection to this program, she is an asset to UofL and Louisville.
