Was President Biden's July 8th News Conference "The Most Infamous & Devastating Press Conference Ever Held By An American President"?

Zero Hedge: Former CIA Officer: "The Most Infamous & Devastating Press Conference Ever Held By An American President"

Kabul's streets are clogged with panicked civilians fleeing the Taliban onslaught of the Afghan capital, American chinook helicopters are hovering above the US Embassy with an emergency evacuation in progress, and the national government propped up for two decades by US money and power is negotiating surrender with barely a fight.

One former CIA officer has observed looking back to Joe Biden's July 8 Afghan policy speech: "This may become the most infamous — and devastating — press conference ever held by an American President," wrote CIA foreign operations veteran Bryan Dean Wright on Sunday.

WNU Editor: I remarked at the time that when that short July 8th news conference ended President Biden scooted out of that room ASAP to escape the reporters who were yelling at him on why he had made the decision to go ahead with the withdrawal of US forces in face of the Taliban offensive.

So yes. I have seen some "infamous and devastating" US Presidential news conferences in my life, and that one is definitely one of the top ones.

But what is more disturbing in the above post is that the person who is claiming this is the "worst Presidential news conference ever" is a former top CIA officer.

In the past few weeks I have been reading numerous accounts on how almost everyone in the Pentagon and the US intelligence community were telling President Biden at the start of his Presidency that a quick withdrawal of US forces will result in the disaster that we are seeing today.

He chose to ignore all of their warnings, and went ahead anyway.

I am willing to bet that in the coming days and weeks when many of these military and intelligence officials gather together to reflect on what has happened, their anger against the US President is only going to intensify.

This is unfortunate. Because in my book these same officials also failed in Afghanistan, if not more so than President Biden.
