Throughout Wednesday night's French federal election debate one question continued to be raised: Why is Canada having an election now?
The evening started off with a question for each party leader around, if they won a minority government, if they would respect the four-year term and not call a snap election, opposed to what Justin Trudeau has moved forward with this year.

WNU Editor: No surprises in last night's French leadership debate. I sensed a lot of frustration from Prime Minister Trudeau. The Prime minister was looking for a killer remark/statement that would define the election (in his favour), but it did not happen. The English debate is tonight at 21:00 EST.
The big news for today is the Quebec premier's remarks on the election .... Legault says minority government better for Quebec, calls NDP, Liberals 'dangerous' (Canadian Press). Premier Legault is very popular in Quebec, and his remarks will only hurt Justin Trudeau.
On final note. For my Canadian readers and for those who are interested in Canadian politics, I will be posting a daily summary and analysis on the Canadian election from now to election day.
